The Decontamination Process
All Surface Decontamination Limited, decontaminates methamphetamine (commonly known as "P") from contaminated surfaces, in most cases without the need to remove wall linings, ceiling linings, floors or any part of the structure. Material such as floor coverings (carpet/soft furnishings) window coverings and electrical fittings will need to be removed in most cases.
All contaminated material removed will be disposed of as contaminated waste at an approved facility with certification supplied.
The property will then be decontaminated in the areas required with the use of the most proven and biodegradable product available DECON7 http://www.decon7.com. Once the product has achieved it’s dwell time, all surfaces are washed down by way of hot water extraction and the areas dried.
As the process eliminates the need to remove any of the structure, this dramatically reduces the time to complete a project, SAVING many valuable $$$$$ on reinstatement.
As a guideline a standard 3 bedroom home will take approx. 2 - 4 days to complete.
Once All Surface Decontamination Limited have completed the decontamination process, post decontamination sampling by an independent sampling company is required. Those samples are then sent to an IANZ accredited laboratory for analysis.
Standards New Zealand released new levels of contamination recently. The document is NZS 8510:2017 and can be downloaded from https://shop.standards.govt.nz/catalog/8510:2017(NZS)/view
High use areas must not exceed 1.5µg/100cm². (µ = micro-grams)
Limited use area must not exceed 3.8µg/100cm². (µ = micro-grams)
